Manolo Blahniks Eco-Friendly Collection Manolo Blahnik prefer,Manolo Blahnik has just joined the growing list of green shion designers with his first ever eco-friendly shoe range. The Spring/Summer 2012 collection, designed in collaboration with Marcia Patmos, features heels and flats created with sustainable materials such as Tilapia skin, raffia and cork.
Based on some of Manolo Blahniks existing designs, the shoes themselves are beautiful. And, whilst it might be a little hard to appreciate them in our current wintry climate, they will be perfect for spring! I think they will be a brilliant addition to the S/S12 pastel collections seen at London Fashion Week. The flash of green, blue or yellow would brighten up the neutral palettes seen at Mulberry (left) and Calvin Klein (right)...
The flats areManolo Blahnik prefer also pretty stylish, although I have to say I prefer the heels! Manolo Blahnik has proven that wecanbe environmentally friendly and stylish at the same time, and I hope that other designers follow suit. What do you think? Could sustainable shion be the next big thing?
